Canada closes visa offices

CIC has announced that : “Effective April 30, 2012, the Visa and Immigration Sections at the Canadian Embassies in Germany (Berlin) and Japan (Tokyo) and the Canadian High Commissions in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Bangladesh (Dhaka) are closed to the public.”

Citizenship and Immigration Canada is making certain changes to the way it operates in Canada and abroad. CIC is trying to expedite the modernization of its techniques. It is decreasing operating costs, and it also is continuing to simplify its programs and procedures by moving processing to locations where faster and more efficient processing is available and in some cases CIC is trying to centralize some of this work inside Canadian border. As such and in order to main these goals CIC has decided to close some of the visa offices around the world.

Residents and nationals previously served by these visa offices will now be served by visa offices in neighbouring countries as outlined below.
