Federal Skilled Worker – Adaptability

The Adaptability Factor is one of the six factors for which points are awarded by Canadian Immigration Officersin determining whether a Skilled Worker / Professional applicant will be accepted or refused.

Points are awarded on the Adaptability Factor on the basis of factors which are expected to improve an applicant’s ability to become economically established in Canada as follows:

Adaptability Points
Spouse’s or common-law partner’s Language Ability CLB 4 or above 5 points
Minimum one year of full-time authorized work in Canada for principal applicant 10 points
Previous study in Canada 5 points
Previous study in Canada for spouse or common-law partner 5 points
Previous work in Canada for spouse or common-law partner 5 points
Points received under the Arranged Employment Factor 5 points
Family relationship in Canada- 18 years or older 5 points
